Shouting About Jesus

SEA- joe and peter

We have had so many moments where we see God working out things in His perfect timing.

One day last week Joe “randomly” met Peter walking on campus.  He happened to be a friend of a student who came to know God six months ago.  He invited Peter to come to our Alpha meeting that evening and he enthusiastically agreed.  Joe sat down with him before the meeting started and began to share the good news with him.  It was clear that he had some understanding of the good news, but didn’t fully understand Jesus’ role in saving people and what it really means to have eternal life.  After explaining it to him, he repeated back to Joe confidently that he believes the only way to be saved is believing by faith that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  Joe gave Peter a Bible and encouraged him to start reading it so we could talk more next time we met.

Joe saw him the very next day and he was carrying his Bible with him.  He ran up to him and practically yelled about how much he loved the Bible and stayed up into the middle of the night reading it.  They chatted for a little bit about what he learned and then he went with us to tell others about the Gospel!  They met one more time yesterday and he told Joe that he didn’t really care about God until he met us.  He thanked Joe so much for helping him truly understand the Gospel because now he wants to tell everyone about it himself.  We are thankful for Peter and his changed heart.  He told Joe he doesn’t have a brother in his family but is thankful that God still provided one in him.
